Oh yeah I remember seeing this on the news a few weeks ago. What the heck was this guy ticked off about? They played the surveillance video and there were people just standing there watching him do it. Maybe they were in shock or maybe they thought he would take the bat to them if they stepped in but you would think security would have been on him.

I think you are right about that (highlighted).

Bystander apathy along with a healthy dose of self preservation is likely what made the onlookers stay out of this. There was really no reason for them to approach him, not like he was hurting a person or something. I thought the TV presenters took a rather sarcastic approach to reporting what is, at the end of the day, a serious incident on many levels.

Maybe Walmart should re-consider selling baseball bats. At least not so near the TV section.

On a serious note, what happened is not a freak occurrence. It is a symptom of what's going on in our society. What happened was just the tip of a glaciatic iceberg. Perhaps we should introduce pillow-fight rooms like some Japanese companies have done as a means to relieve work stress.

Well I think wall mart would not go after him. They have just made a world class movie in hollywood entitled"Batting in Wally Town". It may just hit the box office and get nominations for the Oscars.lol

I never thought this thread when I posted it would be so popular. Here's a few more. The first looks real. The second two are for fun - enjoy:
